About NDNS
Born in Newcastle. Rooted in the Hunter.
Newcastle & District Nursing Service has been caring for people across the Hunter and Mid North Coast for over 50 years. We're not a distant provider. This is our community too.

Newcastle & District Nursing Service was established in 1975 by Sr Jan Stevens, who recognised the need for community nurses to complement the over-extended health system at the time. From its inception, NDNS set down and followed a high-standard philosophy and code of conduct. NDNS was the first private nursing agency established in the region.
In 1990, Sue purchased NDNS, continuing to provide nursing and home care services within the region. The business has grown successfully in the decades since, and to this day Sue continues in the role of CEO and DON of NDNS. In 2006, NDNS relocated to new premises to accommodate the growth of the business and expand in other areas.
NDNS is dedicated to coordinating services to meet the needs of our clients, with the ultimate outcome of allowing them to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. The NDNS team is very loyal and dedicated to their work, giving continuity of care to our clients and resulting in excellent service delivery.
The staff of NDNS have touched many lives of people in the Hunter in a positive way. NDNS will continue to strive to accommodate the needs of the community.
