Private nursing

NDNS can provide home nursing and community care services. This service is totally flexible to meet your needs and preferences.

Who is eligible and how can I refer?

Anyone may request private services, all of which are available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Even if you have access to one of the government-funded programs, you may wish to obtain additional services or more frequent assistance, such as home nursing, personal care or domestic assistance.

Referrals may be made from any source: self-referral, family members, carers, ACAT, your general practitioner, hospital discharge planner, or other care agencies.

NDNS will discuss with the potential client and family the schedule of fees and arrange a convenient time to complete an assessment. Following the assessment, a care plan will be developed to meet your individual care needs. Care plans are developed with consideration for a client's specific language, cultural and religious requirements.

What level of assistance is available?

The hours per week and frequency of visits offered are based on your individual needs and preferences.

Is there a cost?

Private nursing is not subsidised by government funding.

You will be advised of the associated cost before the agreed service plan is implemented. This will be clearly detailed in a Service Agreement.
