Dementia care
Specialist support for people living with dementia, and for the families who love them.

A dementia diagnosis changes things, but it doesn't have to mean leaving the home you know. With the right support, many people live well at home for years. NDNS provides specialised dementia care at home across Newcastle, the Hunter and the Mid North Coast, built around the person, not just the condition.
Our Dementia Specific Care Team
NDNS has a Dementia Specific Care Team who work together to support clients and their families with carer support, respite options, advocacy, long-term supports and future planning. Our carers are trained to recognise the way dementia affects each person differently, and to adapt as needs change over time.
What dementia care at home can include
- A consistent, familiar carer and steady daily routines
- Help with personal care, meals and medication
- Activities and social connection that support memory and mood
- Respite so family carers can rest, knowing their loved one is safe
- Practical advice and planning for what comes next
Support for families and carers
Caring for someone with dementia is demanding, and you don't have to do it alone. We work alongside families, offering guidance, advocacy and a regular break, so you can keep being the husband, daughter or friend, not only the carer.
